From the statement:
I've always been interested in the ways that todays' events become yesterdays memorabilia. I have worked with many different kinds of objects - home movies, audio recordings, letters found at the dump, magazines, books and the photos from yesterdays' newspapers. I see each of these as cultural artifacts. I grew up in Israel, watching US movies on TV, they were bought by the dozen by the government and played in bulk on Saturday TV, a month of westerns, a month of musicals etc. Perhaps this is why I see images and objects from the past not just as archeological artifacts, pieces of history but as a part of a larger body of knowledge, shared by communities, and cultures. I'm interested in creating structure from concepts, objects and ideas, in examining ideas in terms of materials and technology.

For the Magnes museum Meta/Data project, I have the privilege of wandering at liberty through the collection, amassing ideas. I'm searching out elements, cultural artifacts, and also reflecting upon a collection, assembling new stories and joining elements never before associated. I am making connections and layering information, while experimenting, playing, thinking about our collective pasts and present. This is an artwork of discovery, experimentation and play that invites the viewer to a game of associations
