In 1993 I won the Multi-Exposure award , given by the Multi Exposure Foundation (then The Sandra Jacobs Foundation) to promote and exchange photographic projects between England and Israel and later on, Palestine as well. This was a collaborative project that documented the Jewish Gay Community in London, but really, explored the issues and politics of documentary photography, as well as communities. The result of this research were exhibitions in London, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and a catalog. The people that we photographed formed the community of this project: sometimes gay, sometimes Jewish, sometimes both and sometimes none. |
